Operating and maintaining Ultrashield Screens

Your Ultrashield Screens are designed to provide efficient, low maintenance operation for years to come. Here are a few tips to insure that you enjoy them during good weather and that they protect you during hurricane events.

When deploying the screens, even if you are only rolling them down part way to block the sun, always roll them down all the way to the floor before rolling them back up. That way the fabric always rolls up tight and your screens will never bunch or wrinkle.

Once a year the screen tracks need to be flushed out with a hose and lubricated with Dri Lube (available at Home Depot) when dry. Spray the Dri Lube into the opening in the track after it dries. Do not use a pressure washer since high pressure is not required. That insures there is no debris in the tracks from surface dirt or insects that could inhibit screen travel.

To clean the screens use a water hose, mild dish detergent, and a soft brush. Do not use harsh chemicals or bleach to clean the screen. Extensive scrubbing should not be necessary. Wait until the screen dries before rolling it back up.
