Nautilus Rolling Shutter Maintenance
- Remove the shutter hood if possible. Roll the curtain down and look inside the hood assembly to see if there are insects, spiders, mud daubers, lizards, tree frogs, etc. in the hood. If so, remove them with a light rinse with a water hose. Do not use high pressure or a pressure washer which might cause mechanism damage.
- Wash the entire shutter down with a solution of mild dish soap and water. If you use a soft cloth, you can also reach the ends of the shutter slats that are on the track. If you can get to both sides of the shutter, wash both sides of the curtain.
- Allow it to dry.
- Spray LC Wax (available at Home Depot) on the joint between the shutter blades and use a clean cloth to spread it out and cover the entire surface on both sides (if possible).
- Spray Dry Lube (available at Home Depot) into the tracks from top to bottom and wipe down the outside of the tracks.
- If the shutter is hand operated spray LC Wax into lock cylinder, insert key and turn it 3 or 4 times.
You now have a clean shutter with a bright finish that is protected from the elements
